About Widowworks

Our story

I lost my husband, Michel, to brain cancer in 2022 after a 3 year and 4 month battle.  At the time of his diagnosis we made his story public on Instagram.  This has given me one of the greatest gifts of the entire journey, and that is the connections I have been able to make with people all over the world, both in person and online. I feel like our story was meant to help others and that when I can make these connections and friendships, Michel's influence lives on. Now that I am on the other side of this and living life as a widow - a life I could only imagine - I continue to make these connections and I still feel the desire to help and support in any possible way.

I have talked to several women who understandably feel completely unprepared for their future. I don't know who would feel otherwise.  I don't have all of the answers, but I have reached out to several women who have lost their spouse to get feedback and suggestions on what might be helpful as you prepare for a very new and unexpected life.

The result is this website.  A place to gather resources many widows need. This will be an evolving space, with information added and deleted as necessary.  In no way is this information an exhaustive list and everyone's needs and comfort levels will vary.
